Day 9 - Polar Bears Part 4

[Click on the heading above to open a webpage with better graphics, a comment field, and email sign up field.]

This is our final full day with the Polar Bears.

The snow in the morning yesterday blanketed the ground and gave us the perfect backdrop to photograph white polar bears.  The morning session was shot while it was snowing.  The scene was magical.

The highlight of the afternoon session was a mother and cub nursing.  Once the cub was finished feeding, it was full of energy, while the mother wanted to sleep.  Eventually they both woke up and made their way, but while they were resting, they were fun to photograph.

This morning was cold, but the bears were active.  At one point, there were 19 bears within eyesight. I'll post some of those tomorrow.
