Day 8 - Polar Bears Part 3

[Click on the heading above to open a webpage with better graphics, a comment field, and email sign up field.]

Today is our third day with the Polar Bears.  The weather overnight was colder and snow, so today we are shooting while snow is falling.  Not only does the snowfall add interest to the images, the backgrounds are much nicer than the sand and gravel.

The bears were very active yesterday, so our goal was seeing the young bears playing.  Many were playing in the water, so the water added another layer of interest.

A big part of watching these bears are the tender moments between a mother and cub.  These are a few of my favourite images.

The last image I will share with you is as shot in the camera.  I know it looks like a composite of different bear shots under different lighting, but I swear it is a single image.  There are 7 bears in the frame, but there were at least 10 on the beach.  I could not take an image wide enough to get them all in!!! And note how big the male is compared to the females and cubs.

Lots more coming.... stay tuned.
